The Friends of Shubael Pond vision is to improve Shubael Pond to make it a clean and accessible neighborhood focal point that can be share by the community.
Do you remember how amazing Shubael pond was years ago? For the past few years, we've experienced some challenges due to cyanobacteria. Over time decaying vegetation, sediment, and runoff has built up causing repeated algae blooms which have closed the pond down for the entire summer. With the limited warm weather in the northeast, we need to work together in the office season to help restore the pond.
